Belux Explorers ( First Brussels unit)

Open to all young people aged 13.5-18.

The Explorers help plan and run their own varied programme, everything from silly challenges to first aid and outdoor cookery. We also do fundraising to help pay for activities like summer camp.

The pictures all show us climbing, but there are plenty of other options if you don't like heights!

Most of us enjoy camping and expeditions. Many members are busy with their Duke of Edinburghs Award
at various levels from Bronze to Gold.
Some are also young leaders in younger sections.

The Explorers are more flexible about attendance then the younger sections, as we recognise that young people have other priorities at times like school or exam work.

In 2007 the summer camp was at the international scout centre in Kandersteg, Switzerland. One member also went to the World Jamboree.

We enjoyed an adventure sports week in Austria in summer 2008 doing things like canyonning.

In 2009 we returned to Kandersteg, for our summer camp. We had a great time ice climbing, hiking etc
